Product Description

As riders, one thing we can always benefit from is a little instruction. Many times we continue to avoid the same obstacles or trails over and over again either because of a previous crash or the intimidation factor is too much. As much as falling is sometimes considered part of the sport, it’s not fun and can easily turn you off mountain biking entirely.

The Ride Guides Skills Boot Camps aim to remedy this situation. Let’s try and make those “ride-arounds” a thing of the past, or take you up a level overall and open up a whole new set of trails for you. Riders from novice up through intermediate skills levels can benefit significantly from spending a day with our Instructors. Not only do we spend the day at Horseshoe Resort, one of the fastest up and coming cycling areas in Ontario, but you’ll get a fresh made BBQ lunch to boot.

Our Skills Boot Camps are taught in an intimate group format (no more than 12 students) which also helps to promote comradery within the group of riders. Riders participating in our Junior Skills Camp must be under 16 years of age (as of December 31, 2015) – For riders age 16 and older, please check out our Buckwallow Skills Camps

Itinerary

You’ll meet your instructors and the group riding with us for the day. After the introductions, we’ll take a quick tour of the facilities and make sure everyone is sorted before we get started. We are going to cover the many different skills required to be successful on a mountain bike and you may learn a few things that you thought you knew… Here is an overview of some of what we will cover:

  • Riding Positions
  • Bike & Body Separation
  • Front, Rear & Combination Wheel Lifts
  • Pedalling Techniques
  • Cornering Techniques
  • and much more…
